Competition Brief

🎨 Design Guidelines:

  • Create an innovative and visually intriguing design that pushes Revit’s boundaries.
  • Embrace a modern and minimalistic aesthetic.
  • You may add additional objects if they support your design concept. 
  • Capture the holiday spirit while ensuring adaptability to various styles.
  • Ensure your family is intuitive and user-friendly, with logical parameter names.
  • Use efficient geometry to avoid unnecessary complexity or large file sizes.
  • Design for versatility, ensuring the tree works in multiple scales or scenarios.

📜 Technical Requirements:

  • Use the oldest available Revit version (preferably Revit 2020) for compatibility.
  • Model your tree in the Generic Model or Planting Category.
  • Only 3D parametric families are accepted (2D designs will not be considered).
  • Submit your family in .RFA format.
  • Keep the family efficient and lightweight to avoid performance issues.
  • Include parametric flexibility for adjustable features (e.g., height, width, decorations).

🖼 Submission Materials:

Each entry must include the following:

  • One .RFA file of your design.
  • Six high-quality PNG images:
    • Three isometric views: Hidden Line, Consistent Colors, and Realistic modes.
    • Side, Front, and Top views of your design.
  • Optional: GIFs, renders, or other complementary materials that enhance your submission.
  • Compress all files into a single .ZIP folder before submission.

📤 Submission Process

Participants may submit more than one design. Each design counts as a separate entry. To submit multiple designs, complete the submission form once per design.

  • Ensure your files meet all technical requirements and include the submission materials listed above.
  • Compress your .RFA file and all supporting images into a single .ZIP file.

General Questions

The competition is open to individuals of all skill levels, but participants must be at least 18 years of age or have parental consent to enter.

Winners will be contacted directly via the provided email on December 25th. The announcement will also be made on our website and featured in our newsletter.

Revit Tree Design

Entries will be judged based on creativity, adherence to the technical requirements, visual appeal, and the amount of parametricy and flexiblity of the Family. We are looking for a Christmas tree that stretches Revit Boundaries and, at the same time, has an innovative, modern, and minimal design element.

We recommend using Revit 2020 for compatibility.

No, all submitted models must be original creations. Any indication of plagiarism or unauthorized use of existing designs will lead to immediate disqualification.

No, the Family must be a 3D Model (of a Generic Model or Planting Category).

While the main focus is on the Christmas Tree, you can add more elements if that's part of the design.

Yes, the top three winning Christmas tree models will be made available as downloadable files on our website at the conclusion of the competition.

Gift cards awarded as prizes will have an expiration date of three (3) months from the date of issuance. Winners are encouraged to utilize their gift cards within this timeframe.
